The community event launched from Community Park at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, bringing together residents and visitors with kayaks, paddleboards and other watercraft decorated with colorful lights.
Code3News was at Community Park as participants began their trip and captured photos of some of the group heading out onto the Colorado River.
From what could be seen at the launch, the event appeared to have a great turnout, with plenty of people taking advantage of a beautiful evening on the river.
The Glow Paddle gives participants a different way to experience one of Bullhead City's greatest attractions. Instead of the usual daytime boating and recreation, paddlers light up their watercraft and travel the river after sunset, creating a colorful display on the water.
The event was community-organized and open to participants who brought their own kayak, paddleboard, float or other appropriate watercraft.
Events like the Glow Paddle are another reminder of what makes living along the Colorado River unique. A Saturday evening, a group of people from the community and a river full of lights makes for a pretty great night in Bullhead City.
Check out the photos captured by Code3News as some of tonight's Glow Paddle participants departed Community Park and headed out onto the Colorado River.
