Bullhead City 25 Years Later Code3News Opportunities
Code3News joins the Bullhead City community and Americans across the country in remembering the 2,977 lives lost and honoring the first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, military members, and ordinary citizens who demonstrated extraordinary courage that day.
On the morning of September 11, four commercial aircraft were hijacked. American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 struck the World Trade Center towers in New York City. American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon, while United Airlines Flight 93 crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, after passengers and crew fought back against the hijackers.
Amid unimaginable devastation came extraordinary courage.
Firefighters climbed the stairs of the World Trade Center while thousands were trying to escape. Police officers, paramedics, and other emergency personnel ran toward danger to help people they had never met.
The FDNY lost 343 firefighters that day. Law enforcement agencies also suffered devastating losses as officers worked to evacuate civilians and respond to the attacks.
Their courage and sacrifice remain a powerful reminder of what it means to serve others.
Twenty-five years later, an entire generation has grown up without a personal memory of September 11, 2001. It is now our responsibility to make sure the lives lost, the heroes who responded, and the sacrifices made are never forgotten.
We remember those who went to work that morning and never returned home.
We remember the passengers and crews aboard the four aircraft.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, military personnel, and countless others who answered the call.
We remember the families whose lives changed forever.
And we remember how, during one of America's darkest moments, communities across the country came together as one.
From Code3News and our community here in Bullhead City, Arizona, we honor every life lost and every hero who answered the call.
25 years later, we remember.
We will never forget.
