For Pollock, this wasn’t just another night at the track. It marked his first race back after crashing his car, making his return behind the wheel of the 71A something worth recognizing.
Coming back after a crash isn’t as simple as unloading the car and lining up for the next race. There is work that goes into repairing the car, getting everything race-ready again, and then having the confidence to climb back behind the wheel and compete.
Pollock did exactly that Saturday night — and he did it well.
The 71A was back on the track, and Pollock put together a strong performance in his return to Dwarf Car racing.

That comeback is why Code3News selected Mark Pollock as our Driver of the Night for October 3.
Sometimes Driver of the Night isn’t simply about who takes the checkered flag. It’s about recognizing the drivers, teams and stories that make local racing what it is.
After putting the 71A back together and returning to competition following his crash, Pollock certainly gave us one of those stories.
Congratulations to Mark Pollock and the 71A team — Code3News Driver of the Night!
