🚨 Zero Tolerance Enforcement Results – Colorado River 🚨
Saturday I had the opportunity to ride along with the officers of the Bullhead City Police Department Marine Unit during their Zero Tolerance enforcement detail on the Colorado River.
This was a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies working together to keep our waterways safe. At one point, there were 7 enforcement boats on the water at the same time:
🚔 Bullhead City Police Department – 3 boats
🎣 Arizona Game & Fish – 3 boats
🎣 Nevada Department of Wildlife – 1 boat
The numbers show just how active the operation was:
✅ 114 vessels stopped (97 were personal watercraft)
✅ 189 people contacted
✅ 1 OUI arrest/citation
✅ 10 equipment, registration, and operational citations
✅ 99 warnings issued (most involving wake violations)
What stood out to me wasn’t the citations—it was the amount of education taking place. Officers spent the day talking with boaters, answering questions, and helping people stay safe while enjoying the river. Most contacts were positive interactions focused on preventing accidents before they happen.
A huge thank you goes out to the businesses that helped support the operation:
👏 Walmart for donating the food.
👏 Air Methods and Care Flight for providing beverages and helping keep personnel hydrated throughout the day.
For those wondering, the crews went through:
🍗 50 pounds of fried chicken
🥔 40 pounds of potato wedges
🍪 48 cookies
Thank you to all of the law enforcement, fire, EMS, and water rescue personnel who spent their weekend protecting residents and visitors on the Colorado River. Their work often goes unnoticed until something goes wrong, but Saturday was a great example of agencies working together to keep everyone safe.
